Our Founder:
Gwen Stirling Wilkie: MBA, MSc, FRSA
Gwen is well respected in her field, admired by colleagues and clients alike for the quality of her work and the deep relationships she develops, many of which are long lasting.
Gwen worked at a senior level in well-known retail businesses during periods of rapid growth and expansion, has been a charity trustee, a Board member, and more recently an Executive Director in a consulting business. She understands the pressures of being a Director and senior leader, she knows what it takes to run a business.
She believes that people are more talented than they realise, that teams are more collectively brilliant than they gives themselves credit for, and that organisations and systems hold more wisdom than we tap into.
The secret to her success is her ability to take a relational approach and bring people together for conversations that matter. She adopts principles of co-creation and participation which are drawn from behavioural science, dialogue, and complexity sciences. These approaches create a space for people to contribute, thrive and grow in a healthy and successful organisation.
She complements her practical leadership experience with her professional qualifications and certifications: an MBA and MSc in Consultancy + Change from HULT Ashridge Business School, NTL OD Practitioner, Advanced Systemic Constellations, Relational Organisational Gestalt, Team Coaching, and psychometric accreditations. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and faculty on the NTL OD Certificate Programme in Europe.
Her award winning first book, From Physical Place to Virtual Space - how to design and host transformative spaces online (2001), was one of the first books of it's kind when published early in the pandemic.
Brilliant Colleagues
She works with a handpicked team of exceptional colleagues, collaborators, and partner organisations. She’s been around long enough to know who just talks a good job, and who are the really high calibre consultants and facilitators.
Gwen shares with Dr Nia Thomas what it means to take a relational approach to her work.
Gwen describes her dialogic approach to her work
Gwen describes what it means to consider the wider context in bringing her systemic approach to a client.
"From the first conversation with Gwen, I knew that her emotional intelligence and people skills were on a different level than almost anyone I’ve ever met. Gwen and her team stood out as having the ability to understand the Medtronic culture, help us anchor our new team in that culture, and create sustaining ways of working together.
Their work made an impressive impact to the EMEA team, resulting in employee engagement scores well above the business unit and corporate averages."
Peter Schommer, former Senior Director, Robotic Systems Utilization, Medtronic
"We couldn’t have achieved what we did at our Board meeting today without the work you’ve done with us over the last 6 months. We’re all better equipped individually and collectively to lead our organisation through the next stage of transformation. We know we will need to make tough decisions but feel we can explore difficult conversations and decisions in a more effective way now.”
Clinical Chair, NHS CCG Board
"Gwen is a commercially strategic and astute leader, who has been an invaluable partner to us in designing a sustainable delivery framework with a focus on building line manager capability and creating a high performance culture. Gwen’s ability to grasp the cultural DNA of our organisation and executive leadership team has been instrumental and on point. Gwen’s professional and pragmatic style is exactly what our entrepreneurial organisation needed.
I would highly recommend Gwen and her team as partners who have the ability to deliver critical thinking that is culturally aligned across a range of opportunities and challenges."
Gurleen Knight, former HR Director, Navitas
"I had the pleasure of working with Gwen at the start of a significant people transformation programme in early 2020, run during the restrictions of the pandemic. It was my first experience of leading a large transformation programme that had the complexity of being delivered across a number of different businesses in our Group. I felt that Gwen 'walked alongside me' throughout our time together and used the perfect blend of guiding, coaching and mentoring depending on what I needed at the time.
Gwen is an exceptional guide and coach. She was intuitive and seemed to know exactly the perfect question to ask to shift my thinking to a new level. It was very powerful and it really accelerated how quickly I was able to make an impact in my new role.
Gwen has a wealth of experience and toolkit of tried and tested practical approaches and techniques for delivering high impact, sustainable transformation. It was extremely valuable to be able to draw on this when I needed it.
Transformation Programme Lead
“The transformation team workshops you’ve run with our senior leaders have proved invaluable in helping us understand our role as leaders of change.
You’ve given us new skills to lead differently with our own teams; to work more collaboratively internally; and to build stronger relationships with our partners and clients. Your sessions are very practical and we love the energy you bring to our checkpoint sessions.”
COO + Transformation Lead, Digital Technology Company
"Gwen has a calm and supportive presence which provides a safe environment for people to come together and explore their challenges and transformation edge in a deeper way. This helps them work more effectively individually and collectively in support of their transformation work.
Her deep knowledge, commitment to developing people, and her willingness to use herself as an instrument to intervene both in and outside of her workshops makes her a pretty magical developer.
Her commitment to continue to develop herself makes her a powerful role model to those whom she works with - she practices what she preaches."
